Amanda and Jesse’s Farm Vigano Wedding, South Morang
There are weddings that feel like a celebration, and then there are weddings that feel like coming home. Amanda and Jesse's day at Farm Vigano was the latter. The heritage Italian estate in South Morang, with its rambling farmhouse gardens and old-world charm, feels like a little corner of Europe tucked into Melbourne's north, and it set the tone for everything that followed.
I photographed and filmed the whole day, and it remains one of my favourites to shoot. Here is how it unfolded, along with everything I learned about Farm Vigano that might help if you are planning your own wedding there.
A ceremony full of heart
The ceremony was held on the lawn in front of the main building, and the look on Jesse's face as Amanda walked down the aisle is one I won't forget. Hannah May Weddings led a ceremony full of heart, the kind where guests laugh and cry in the same five minutes, while Big Day Co wove gorgeous florals through the whole day.
What I loved most was the people. Friends who felt like family, and kids right in the middle of everything. Some of my favourite frames from the day are the in-between ones, little hands in big ones, someone wiping an eye during the vows, the hug that goes a second longer than expected.
The details
Amanda wore a custom gown designed by Jessica Coutures through Raffaele Ciuca Bridal, with makeup by Tonic Agency and hair by Madi Pain Hair. Jesse matched her in a tailored suit from Institchu. Details like these are a gift to photograph, because they photograph exactly as beautifully as they were made.
Golden hour at Farm Vigano
If you are considering Farm Vigano for your wedding, this is the part to pay attention to. The estate is generous with portrait locations, and we used four of them as the light turned gold: the hedges, the iconic stairs, the long driveway, and the upper garden. Each has a different mood, from structured and elegant to soft and unhurried, so twenty minutes of wandering gives you a full, varied set of couple portraits without ever leaving the property.
My advice for couples marrying here is simple. Protect a short window before sunset for portraits. The gardens do the rest.
An Italian celebration
In true Italian style, the reception was built around the things that matter most: shared food, free-flowing wine and the easy warmth of family. From the first dance onwards, Melbourne Entertainment Company kept the dance floor full until the very last song.
I had the joy of shooting this wedding alongside my friend Ellena Louise Videography, who captured the day beautifully on film.

Frequently asked questions
Where is Farm Vigano?
Farm Vigano is a heritage Italian estate in South Morang, in Melbourne's north, around 40 minutes from the CBD.
Can you hold both the ceremony and reception at Farm Vigano?
Yes. Amanda and Jesse held their ceremony on the lawn in front of the main building and their reception on the estate, which makes for a relaxed day with no travel in between.
Is Farm Vigano good for wedding photos?
It is one of the best in Melbourne's north. Between the farmhouse gardens, the hedges, the stairs, the driveway and the upper garden, you have a full variety of portrait settings within a short walk, and the late light through the gardens is lovely.
If you are planning a wedding at Farm Vigano, or anywhere across Melbourne, I would love to hear about it. I photograph and film weddings as a combined package, so your photos and film share one style and one team. Send me your date and venue and I will let you know if I am free.
Kind regards,
Jesse
