A live stream closes it. They open one link from their couch in Manchester or a ward in Clayton, hear your vows as you say them, and see you turn around. They are at your wedding, from wherever they are.
Why a phone on a tripod is not this
You have seen the version where someone props a phone against a candle and starts a shaky vertical stream that drops out halfway through the vows.
This is not that.
The cameras on your ceremony are the same ones filming your wedding film, positioned where the moments are. The audio comes from the same microphones, so your vows are crisp instead of an echo bouncing off the back wall. I bring my own internet connection, bonded across more than one carrier, and I never rely on venue wifi. Someone is watching the stream the whole way through, so if anything wobbles it is fixed while it is happening, not discovered afterwards.
The difference is the audio more than anything. A phone stream gives your family a muffled room. This gives them your actual vows.
Why it is $650 and not $1,500
Because everything the stream needs is already there.
A live stream company has to bring cameras, microphones, a crew and a connection to your wedding, which is why multi-camera streams in Melbourne start at over $1,000. Here the cameras and the microphones are already rigged for your film. The stream is a second output of the same signal, plus the connection, the encoder and a person watching it. You get a broadcast-quality stream for the cost of the parts it adds.

The time zone problem, solved
Your overseas family is in a different day.
A two in the afternoon Melbourne ceremony is four in the morning in London and eleven the night before in Los Angeles. Some of the people you most want watching are asleep when your vows happen, through no fault of anyone.
So I give you the ceremony start time in the time zones that matter to your family, worded for the invitation, and the recording is live from the moment the ceremony ends. The people who set an alarm watch it live. The people who could not are watching it over breakfast before you have left the venue.
What if something goes wrong?
Streams fail for four reasons: the internet drops, the audio is bad, the link does not work for someone, or nobody is watching the feed. Each one has an answer here. I bring my own connection with a backup. The audio is the film's audio. The link opens in any browser on any device with nothing to install. And a person is watching the stream from start to finish.
If the stream still fails for a reason on my side, I refund the stream. The recording exists regardless, so nobody ends up with nothing.
Private, with one caveat
The link is unlisted and shared only by you. It is not searchable and it is not on any platform's feed. I cannot stop your uncle forwarding it to someone, and nobody can, but if that worries you I can put a password on it.
What the recording gives you later
The live stream has a second life you might not expect.
Your wedding film, done well, is a highlight. It trims and shapes and chooses. The stream recording is the opposite: your entire ceremony, unedited, every word of every vow and reading, start to finish, exactly as it happened. Years from now, when you want to hear the whole thing rather than the highlight, it is there.
Couples are often surprised that the stream they booked for their overseas grandmother becomes the thing they rewatch on anniversaries. It costs nothing extra to have both.
Which venues this works at
Most, with one thing to check: signal.
Because I bring the connection, venue wifi does not matter. A remote paddock, a deep valley or a stone chapel with thick walls can still be tricky for mobile signal, and that is exactly the kind of thing worth raising early. Tell me where you are getting married when you enquire and I will tell you plainly whether it will hold, before you promise your family a stream that a dead spot might break.

Is this different from our wedding film?
Yes. The live stream is your full ceremony, broadcast as it happens and recorded start to finish, unedited. Your wedding film is crafted later and tells the story of the whole day. The stream is for being there live. The film is for reliving it.
Do our guests need an app or account?
No. It is a single link that opens in any browser on any device. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.
Can people watch it later?
Yes. Everyone with the link can watch the recording afterwards, so anyone who missed the live time can still see the whole ceremony.
Can we send the link to people we didn't invite?
Yes, and plenty of couples do. A stream link is not an invitation to the party, it is a way of letting people who care about you see the part that matters. Most people on the receiving end are simply touched to be included.
Can you stream the reception and speeches too?
The standard covers your ceremony, which is what almost everyone wants for distant family. If you want speeches streamed as well, mention it when you enquire and I will put together the right setup.
What if the internet drops?
I run my own bonded connection with a backup and monitor the stream live throughout, which is most of what you are paying for over a phone on a tripod. If it fails for a reason on my side, I refund the stream, and the recording still exists.
Does the audio really matter that much?
More than anything else. A phone stream gives your family a muffled room. This takes audio from the same microphones as your film, so they hear your vows properly. It is the single biggest difference between this and a DIY stream.
