Some love stories take the long way around. Ruby and Jacob met in high school, found their way back to each other years later, and after Jake’s sunset proposal at Aireys Inlet, they married on a beautiful December afternoon at Inglewood Estate, a venue hidden in a valley at the gateway to the Yarra Valley, where the rest of the world simply falls away.
They wed in front of the hand-built stone chapel beside the lake, married by celebrant Monique, a harpist from Chiara Strings playing Ruby down the aisle as her dad watched on, with florals by Yarra Valley Blooms framing the day and a cake by Torte by Mirjana waiting back at the reception. Ruby and Jacob are young and utterly in love, and it showed: families all in, friends welcomed like family. We chased the light from the chapel to a golden sunset on the hill, then danced the night away to Hey Jack Co, from their first dance to “Our House” to a final flurry of shots in the estate’s old tram. The perfect full stop on an unforgettable day.
